33 Chancery Lane becomes 33 Chambers, expanding into Civil, Commercial and International Disputes
We are very proud to announce a new chapter for Chambers, as 33 Chancery Lane rebrands as 33 Chambers, marking a major milestone in our continued growth and expansion into high value civil, commercial and international disputes.
Long recognised as a serious force in financial wrongdoing and asset recovery, we are formally broadening our practice to reflect the continued expansion and strength of our complex, cross-border disputes where civil, commercial and criminal issues increasingly intersect. While we have long undertaken substantial civil work, particularly in fraud, asset recovery and enforcement, this evolution brings that expertise more clearly to the forefront.
33 Chambers offers specialist expertise in fraud, asset recovery and enforcement, crypto and digital assets, commercial litigation, insolvency, financial services, international arbitration and offshore litigation. These practice areas build on our established strengths in POCA and asset recovery, a core pillar of our practice, with our members continuing to extend their already formidable depth of experience.
This rebrand represents far more than a change of name and location. It also reflects a significant expansion of our set, with the addition of 15 full and associate members across key practice areas including commercial litigation, fraud, offshore litigation, financial crime, crypto and digital assets, and international arbitration, in under two years, strengthening established capabilities while accelerating growth in emerging areas of practice.
This continued growth further reinforces our distinctive positioning as a fully integrated civil and criminal set. This unique offering places chambers at the forefront of high-stakes disputes, particularly matters involving fraud, asset tracing, regulatory enforcement and parallel civil and criminal proceedings.
Kennedy Talbot KC, Head of Chambers, comments:
“This rebrand reflects how our practice has evolved in response to the growing expertise of our members and the needs of our clients. It is not a departure from what we have always done, but a clearer, stronger articulation of it. We have long been instructed in substantial civil fraud and asset recovery matters alongside our criminal work and this new era reflects both the strength of that existing practice and our ambition to build on it in response to evolving client needs.”
Sam Carter, Chief Executive and Director of Clerking, further comments:
“This rebrand reflects the set’s evolution and ambition. We remain proud of our history and are building on that legacy with the same exceptional team of barristers, complemented by new members who bring significant expertise to our expanding practice areas. Our new identity marks a decisive step forward, with a broader national and international outlook and ambitious plans for growth.
The most complex disputes no longer sit neatly in one jurisdiction or one discipline. 33 Chambers is built to operate at that intersection, delivering strategic, specialist advocacy at the highest level.”
Martin Adams, Chief of Operations, added:
“This rebrand emphasises the cross-over expertise that 33 Chambers is uniquely positioned to provide to its clients. For complex disputes, domestically or abroad, no other set offers such significant civil and criminal experience. 33 Chambers will not only maintain the highest levels of service to our clients, we will also continue to provide exceptional service standards to our barristers.”
As we enter this next phase, our ambition is clear: to be recognised as a go to set for complex civil and criminal disputes, both domestically and internationally.
We are now based at 30 Lincoln's Inn Fields, with our members appearing across all major courts and tribunals, including ADR and international forums.
