Chambers' Fahrid Chishty concludes commercial crypto-assets litigation before the DIFC Digital Economy Court (DEC)

Fahrid Chishty recently appeared as trial Counsel in a founder-shareholders' dispute litigated before the Digital Economy Court (DEC), a specialist division of the DIFC Courts. Fahrid represented two Claimants bringing an action for breach of fiduciary duties against the co-Founder of a prominent FinTech unicorn startup operating a decentralised exchange aggregator (DEX).

The litigation was among the first crypto-asset commercial trials in the DEC and involved complex evidence spanning Web3, intent-based swap protocols, tokenomics and blockchain technologies.

Fahrid is registered as a Part II Legal Practitioner before the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts and was instructed by Habib Al Mulla and led by William Prasifka.
